
Jon is a certified and experienced yoga instructor holding 200 E-RYT, RYT-500, and YACEP credentials, specializing in Vinyasa Yoga, Breathwork, and Sitting Meditation. Growing up in a yoga-centric environment, he developed a deep-rooted understanding of yoga’s principles, application, and techniques. His approach emphasizes a balance of strength, flexibility, and mental clarity, aiming to help students cultivate both physical and inner well-being.
His teaching philosophy revolves around a holistic approach to yoga, blending long-held postures with breath control, recovery, and strength-building. He is passionate about guiding students through healing and restoration, ensuring they leave each session feeling energized and equipped with tools that extend beyond the mat. He takes a particular interest in working with beginners, helping them unlock new potentials in body awareness, breath control, and mindfulness.
He is the Founder of YFM – Yoga | Fitness | Mindfulness, an online yoga platform designed to encourage men’s participation in yoga and meditation. Through YFM, he has created comprehensive programs catering to various needs and skill levels. He also played a key role in developing Yoga for Vets, collaborating with the University of South Florida School of Public Health to study the positive effects of yoga and meditation for veterans with PTSD. Additionally, as a co-founder and instructor at Inner State Yoga in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida, he helped foster a community-driven space for yoga practice.
In addition to his yoga instruction, he serves as the COO of Mental Strength for Athletes (MSA), where he works as a mindfulness trainer and coach. MSA is dedicated to empowering individuals and athletes to achieve peak performance and well-being through mindfulness training and online coaching. His experience also extends to healthcare consulting as an active managing member of MGC Health Advisors LLC, where he helps navigate innovative approaches to healthcare delivery and technology.
His professional journey has been enriched by studying under renowned mentors, including the “”First Lady of Yoga” Lilias Folan, Dr. Ray Long (orthopedic surgeon, author, and anatomy expert), and Chris Acosta, a well-respected “teacher’s teacher.” He has also trained with Mike Fecht, yoga instructor to professional athletes and former yoga coach for the Miami Dolphins. With expertise in Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga, recovery, and breathwork, he excels in adapting his teaching methods to meet individual student needs, leading workshops, and personalizing yoga sessions to enhance physical and mental well-being.
